ART

My philosophy is very simple. IF this is the last art course you ever take in school, I hope you walk away with an "I CAN" attitude to support your lifelong learning in your future. As an adult you may choose to try out any number of arts and crafts courses in the community because you remembered that YOU COULD.

At RTCS we use a blended learning approach in all art classes - offering a variety of methods and resources to engage student learning. In addition our class also provides opportunities to work along, with peer and in groups. The students will also learn through class demonstrations, discussions and critiques.

Together we will learn, explore, and appreciate various types of art!

Art 8

Grade 8 art often includes students who have not taken art yet (no worries) and also those who took grade 7 art. Most students who take grade 8 art perceive that they have some talent OR they simply love to create.  Grade 8 students can still expect to paint, draw, sculpt and make prints but with more choice and more ability to stretch into areas they might want to explore on their own.

There are opportunities for students to work collaboratively to create art for the school.

Two important goals for the art student are to embrace choice and to find their voice.
